UK Home Office Visa Fees

(Effective from 1 May 2025)

This page provides a comprehensive guide to UK visa application fees, as set by the Home Office, updated to reflect changes effective from 1 May 2025.

While we keep this page regularly updated, we recommend checking with the official UK Visas and Immigration website to confirm the most current fee schedule.

Understanding UK Visa application fees

UK Visa application fees are the mandatory charges payable to the Home Office for processing visa and immigration applications.

These fees vary depending on the visa type, duration of stay, and whether you are applying inside or outside the UK.

It is important to note that these fees do not include:

  • The Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS)
  • Immigration Skills Charge (for sponsored workers)
  • Biometric appointment fees
  • Premium or priority service fees
  • Costs for legal advice or representation
  • Fees for translation, certification, or notarisation of supporting documents

Before you apply: Important considerations for applicants

Before applying for your UK visa, it is important to take the following into account:

  1. Choose the correct visa route
Each visa category has specific eligibility criteria and documentation requirements. Applying under the wrong route can lead to delays or refusals.
  2. Check the most recent fees
UK visa fees can change without prior notice. Ensure that you are using the correct, up-to-date fee for your chosen route.
  3. Be aware of refund policies
In most cases, visa application fees are non-refundable, even if your application is rejected or withdrawn.
  4. Budget for additional charges
Depending on your circumstances, you may need to pay extra for services such as IHS, translations, and priority processing.
  5. Consider dependant fees
If you are applying with family members (including children), fees usually apply per applicant.
