India Young Professionals Scheme - A quick look
The scheme allows winners to stay in the UK for up to two years.
No, you do not need to be sponsored to apply for the Indian Youth Mobility Scheme.
This visa allows you to study or work (either for yourself or someone else). If you do set up a company, it must have a rented premises and you must not have any employees.
You will not be able to extend your stay or apply for most benefits. You are also unable to include family members on your application.
India Young Professionals Scheme Visa
An India Young Professionals Scheme Visa allows Indian citizens aged between 18 and 30 to live and work in the UK for up to 2 years.
You must be selected in the India Young Professionals Scheme ballot before you can apply.Â
Requirements
You can only enter the ballot online, and will need to:
- Be an Indian national between 18 and 30 years old
- Have a qualification at bachelor’s degree level or above
- Have £2,530 in savings
- Not have any children under the age of 18 who live with you
The successful entries will be picked at random, with winners being notified by email.
How long can you stay?
The scheme allows winners to stay in the UK for up to two years.
You can enter the UK at any time while your visa is valid, and come and go as you please during your stay.
How much does it cost?
It is free to enter the draw, but you must make sure you can pay the £298 visa fee as well as the other financial requirements if you win a place.
You will have 30 days from the date of the email to apply online, pay the visa application fee and also pay the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) to be able to access NHS services. For this visa, the IHS is £1,552.
