⚠️ What is a UK Expansion Worker Visa?
The UK Expansion Worker Visa allows individuals to come to the UK to set up a branch of an overseas business. Specifically, this is for organisations that do not currently have a presence in the UK. This route is part of the UK’s Global Business Mobility visas. It replaced the Sole Representative of an Overseas Business Visa.
⚠️ What are the eligibility requirements for a UK Expansion Worker Visa?
To be eligible for this visa, you must already work for the overseas business as either a senior manager or specialist employee. The company must also be approved by the Home Office to be a sponsor. If you earn less than £73,900, you must have worked for the sponsor company, outside the UK, for at least 12 months – although there are exemptions for Japanese nationals. You must earn a minimum salary of £42,400 and do a job that is on the list of eligible occupations. You must also prove that you have enough personal savings to move to the UK.
⚠️ How long am I allowed to stay in the UK with a UK Expansion Worker Visa?
The maximum time that you can stay in the UK with this visa is 2 years. The Home Office will initially grant a 12 month visa which can then be extended for a further 12 months.
⚠️ Does the UK Expansion Worker Visa allow for dependant family members?
Yes, you are allowed to bring dependant partners and children with you, if eligible.
⚠️ How much does it cost to apply for the UK Expansion Worker Visa?
The application fee for the UK Expansion Worker Visa is £259. You will also be required to pay the Healthcare Surcharge. If you’re applying as an individual, this is £624 per year of your stay. This cost increases with each additional dependant linked to your application. In addition, you will also need to prove that you have enough money to support yourself while in the UK. This is usually at least £1,270 before taking any dependants into consideration.
