Right to Work Checks – for British and Irish passport holders
Since April 2022, employers have been able to conduct Right to Work checks using Identification Document Validation Technology – or IDVT.
This is to check the eligibility of prospective employees that hold a valid British or Irish passport or passport card.
This method of verification is carried out by Digital Identity Service Providers – known as IDSPs.
